Chrystal Wake

Chrystal is a huge fan of the artistic community in Richmond and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work for an organization whose mission is to support and celebrate Richmond’s creative community, including recruiting young professionals to begin their careers in our great city of Richmond.  She is energized by the dynamic Board of Directors C3 is privileged to have providing their many diverse talents on behalf of C3.

Chrystal joined C3 in November 2009 as its new Executive Director.  Chrystal is a native Richmonder, who graduated from the University of Richmond summa cum laude with a B.A. in Economics.  After working for NASA Headquarters forecasting budgetary requirements for space missions and lobbying for funding with Congress, Chrystal enrolled at the University of Virginia School of Law.  She graduated with her Juris Doctor and practiced international law for nearly eighteen years, most recently at Hunton & Williams.  Along the way, Chrystal has taught part-time in the Political Science Departments of San Diego State University, while practicing law in San Diego, and at her alma mater of University of Richmond.  For the past eight years, Chrystal has been serving on the Junior Board of Children’s Hospital, where she has held a number of leadership roles.  In her free time, Chrystal likes to frequent area coffee shops with her husband and kids, sit in sidewalk cafes and people watch, and dance like nobody is watching and today is her very last day.
