Charles Collie
Charles is the managing director and senior consultant for BoldStroke Consulting. In this role he helps organizations live their purpose by creating a brand focused culture that is ingrained in every aspect of its operations and marketing. Over the last couple of years, helping organizations use social media to communicate and create community around their brand has become one of his specialties.
Over the past 15 years, Charles’ career has been a multi-faceted, around the globe journey, working in consulting, branding, marketing, government and politics. Charles’ client list has included Fortune 500 companies, federal, state and local governments, associations, churches and nonprofits. A particular focus of his work has been design studios, advertising agencies, new media companies, public relations firms, and direct marketing firms. In fact, Charles has consulted with 13 of the 15 largest advertising agencies in the world.
Charles graduated with honors from Hampden-Sydney College, attended the Emory University School of Law and has a master’s degree from the University of Richmond.
His career began with a U.S. Department of Justice contractor, continued through a successful stint as a political consultant and then found his passion in helping organizations grow with Circuit City Stores when they were the dominant consumer electronics retailer in America.
For the last decade plus Charles has worked as a brand and management consultant, trainer and coach – first as president of Sanders Consulting Group; then with his own firm, Collie Strategic Consulting; with Martin Branding Worldwide and today as Managing Director of BoldStroke Consulting.
Charles has written white papers and published articles in the fields of branding, corporate strategy, creativity, leadership, ethics, communications, personality identification, client service and business development. In addition, Charles has presented keynote addresses and workshops for management conferences and major association conventions.
Compelled to serve the community, Charles currently serves on the boards of C3 (Creative Change Center), Needle’s Eye Ministries and the Wilson Center for Leadership at Hampden-Sydney College as well as working with the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond, teaching 7th and 8th grade Sunday School at Fairmount Christian Church and coaching Youth League basketball in Hanover County.
